If there’s one thing I truly enjoy doing is trying different skincare products. I love searching for the next best product that could potentially make my skin both look and feel better. I have oily/blemish prone skin that tends to lean towards the sensitive side of the spectrum. Note that some of the products that work for me might not work for you, but hopefully you will find a new discovery or learn more about how each product works for me. Here we go:
Ole Herinksen Empower Foaming Milk Cleanser - Cleansers (along with face masks) are the one skincare product that continuously change in my skincare regime. I have a few that I have repurchased, but for the most part I give a new one a try each time one has finished. What first drew me to this product was the scent - I want this scent in a perfume bottle! It has a light sweet floral scent that is subtle and not overpowering. I am normally sensitive to skincare products that have a scent but this does not irritate my skin at all. It gently cleanses to remove dirt and impurities from the skin without stripping it of moisture. I will advise to use this as a morning cleanser, second cleanse, or just remove your makeup first before using it cause it will not remove all traces of makeup; however it is still a great cleanser that can work for all skin types. To use it I dampen my face, then take two pumps on my hands and work it onto my face until it turns to a slight lather and just rinse it off. The only downside was that the pump stopped working after the first few uses, though i’m not sure if this was just my bottle or if it’s a production issue, that being said I still thoroughly recommend this cleanser.
Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief - I got this as a sample in my Birchbox a few months ago and the rest is history. Already on my second jar of this moisturizer and i’m just as in love with it as when I first tried it. It’s a gel moisturizer that is extremely lightweight and hydrating at the same time. I have oily skin which means I’m constantly on the for a moisturizer that provides the right amount of hydration without the tight or overly greasy feeling and this product does just that. It is recomended for all skincare types, but I think if you have dehydrated to very dry skin it would be best to layer this over a lightweight oil. This moisturizer is also scent and oil free which makes it great for sensitive skin. Literally cannot say enough great things about this skincare product, you have to give it a try!
Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil - I was not the biggest fan of face oils until I tried this magical product. It is like fairy liquid goodness in a bottle, it's just beyond amazing. I’m already a massive fan of the Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment which gave me high hopes for this product and it did not disappoint. It contains a gentle retinol alternative that gently exfoliates the skin while also keeping it hydrated. About four times a week at night I apply 3-4 drops on my cleansed/dry face and massage it in until it is absorbed. By morning I wake up with incredibly smooth and radiant skin. The scent is kind of odd, but it does not bother me. When giving this a try keep in mind that a little goes a long way (you will look like a smurf character if you apply too much), you’ll be surprised to see how long a bottle will last you. It does have a bit of a high price tag, but in my opinion it is totally worth it.
Remember you can always ask for a sample at your local beauty store before commiting to the full-size product. Be sure to let me know what your current skincare favorites are in the comments below.
