I am that person that is constantly jotting down quotes that I find inspiring or just ones resonate with me. I find quotes to be a quick source of inspiration and reflection when needed, words that remind me of what I believe in and strive to be. So today I’m sharing a few of my favorites, the ones that I honestly live by – enjoy!

“Life is more manageable when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party.” by Jimmy Buffett – I first heard this quote while watching an episode of white collar and immediately paused the episode and wrote it down. For some reason this quote just made so much sense to me, it was like an “OMG that’s genius” in my mind. For me is means encountering new experiences and events in life as things that will help you in the future, rather inconveniences that make life less manageable. The different obstacles are not there to throw you off track, but to provide you with skills you might not have learned otherwise.

“Failure is a part of like and no matter what happens to you, if you’re still breathing, life goes on.” – This is one of those quotes that you constantly find on Tumblr and that generally just floats around in social media,  and I love it. For me is a great reminder that no matter what happens in life, time does not stop, you have to pick yourself up and keep moving forward. It shows that failure is a part of life and though you are allowed to take a minute to reflect on it, you should not get stuck in that moment, you have pick yourself up and keep moving.

“Compare where you to where you want to be and you’ll get nowhere.” from the song Uncharted by Sara Bareilles – Being a huge Sara Bareilles fan, I find that I connect with many of her lyrics. In this song in particular this line speaks volumes. In a world where comparison is standard and people are more focused on the end result than the journey, these lyrics put it all into perspective. Comparing where you are currently to where you would like to see yourself will not get you there faster; you will only find yourself dwelling on your current state and not acknowledging the accomplishments along the way. It’s about finding beauty in the journey and not just wishing on the destination. I feel this applies to anything from mental to career goals.

Hopefully you found a quote (or two) that you feel will connects with you. Feel free to let me know some of the ones you live by in the comments below.
