Review: Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum

The Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Serum was one of those products that I tried on a whim and ended up being obsessed with. I received this serum in one of my Ipsy boxes and thought I would give it a try, the next morning my skin felt extremely smooth - I have been using it ever since. Glycolic acid is an ingredient that many chemical exfoliants contain, it’s an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that is used to smooth and enhance skin. It’s primarily used to improve hyperpigmentation, smooth wrinkles, and the overall texture of the skin.

This serum has 4% glycolic acid and claims to minimize the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles to provide a more refined and even looking complexion. It also contains aloe vera to calm the skin. It has a thick gel consistency that spreads easily and absorbs quickly. It does have a light citrus scent that fades away as you apply it (I quite like the scent). After the first use I noticed an immediate smoothness in my skin the next day, if incorporated into your daily routine you will notice a difference in fine lines and your skin’s overall texture.

On clean and dry skin I massage in a small dollop (the size of an overgrown pea), avoiding the eye area. At first the serum leaves your skin feeling tacky, but this goes away in a couple of minutes as it absorbs. Once fully absorbed, I apply my moisturizer over the top. It is suggested to use at night and to wear sunscreen during the day, as this will make sure skin more sensitive. If you have sensitive skin I would recommend using it on alternating days to not irritate the skin.

I’m really impressed with this product and looking forward to trying more products from Nip + Fab. Be sure to let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried other products from this brand and what you would recommend!
